The Slovenian Section of IBBY – International Board on Books for Young People

Since 2010, Alenka Veler has been an editor of literature for youth at Mladinska knjiga, one of Slovenia’s most prominent publishing houses. She is known for her in-depth editing work with original manuscripts and an unerring instinct for quality children’s literature. She is one of the initiators and mentors of the Festival of socially engaged writing Itn. In 2022, the year when the Sinji galeb series for teens and YA readers marked its 70th anniversary, Alenka Veler conceived an extensive program of events and reading promotion campaigns.
