The Slovenian Section of IBBY - International Board on Books for Young People
Mission
It is the mission of the Slovenian Section of IBBY to:
promote international understanding through children’s books,
give children everywhere the opportunity to have access to books with high literary and artistic standards,
encourage publication and distribution of quality children’s books,
provide support and training for those involved with children’s literature,
stimulate research in the field of children's literature, and particularly:
promote Slovenian children’s literature of high quality at home and abroad,
promote quality children’s literature translated into Slovenian from other languages.
The Section fosters international links with the International Youth Library (IJB), the Biennale of Bratislava (BIB) and Bookbird, as well with IBBY National Sections worldwide.
